1979 P Roosevelt Dime
Coin Dealer Insight: Production dropped yet again in 1979 with just over 706 million dimes produced that year. However, the San Francisco mint apparently had a problem with a die which created the 1979 S "Filled S" (or 1979 S Type 1) error dime. Partway through production, the die was replaced which created the 1979 S "Clear S" (or 1979 S Type 2) dimes.
